We started summer with Little Miss Sunshine’s – my daughter M’s second birthday. The best part was the arrival of my parents from India. What could be a better way to celebrate? By adding Strawberry Cupcakes, of course!
We took her strawberry picking, which was a first for us too!
It led me to make this delicious Strawberry Jam.
We explored our own city, San Francisco and discovered some gems Off the Beaten Path.
Point Reyes LightHouse |
Muir Woods |
We grew our first tomato and many more after that 🙂
We went to the beach, which is an obvious thing to do in summer, right?
And to the circus!
The greatest show on earth |
We went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, what an experience that was!
We did Disney in a Day and went around LA!
And Finally, we celebrated the Chinese Lantern Festival with dragons and moon cakes and good friends.
So long, Summer! You’ve been good. But I’m now looking forward to my favorite season, Fall. I’m looking forward to crunching leaves beneath my feet, cooler weather, chic fall clothes, the festive season, hot chocolate and reading books under a cozy blanket.
I also think fall is the season for baking. I love the warm scents of cinnamon, nutmeg and apples baking in the oven (I’m thinking apple pie). I’m thinking hot soups and freshly baked bread. I’m excited about Dussehra, Diwali, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh I hope I can keep up! Hope you have had a great summer too! Stay warm 🙂
